As a kid, I wonder how my boyfriend thought of his dad, if he wondered whether he would come back or what he liked to do. It would be painful and upsetting, to say the least.

I know it would hurt my boyfriend to see pictures of his father and his family, but he would be too full of pride to show it. They have the same eyes and eyebrows and hair and smile. Looking at the pictures was difficult because I knew that I had found him. And it breaks my heart that someone could just abandon their own child for a different, new family. All that we know of him is his name, one old ass photo, and where he might live. We came across a touchy subject while digging around for information…a subject about his father, who he has never known. Of course, he procrastinated and now we can’t find his birth certificate. Well, my boyfriend is going on a cruise with my family and me and we’re rushing to get his passport expedited.
